I am the father of 4 girls and 1 boy. I really love children; my own and others. I am a big kid at heart that knows how to be fun when I can and serious when I must. I would love to have 3 or 4 more kids (or even more if it is meant to be). I love seeing the awe in their face when they see their first balloon or touch their feet in the grass or sand the first time...or when they touch the bark on a tree or the scruff on my face. It humbles me and I always see things I had since taken for granted or not noticed before (like watching a movie 2 or 3 times and you notice different things each time that you missed the previous time(s) you saw it). I feel like I am experiencing the little things through their eyes, ears, touch. I am a 100% hands-on dad (who has no problem changing diapers or getting up every 3 hours at night so mom can get rest)!! And...who can ever forget that infectious baby laugh?!
Hobbies
I retired from active duty U.S. Air Force after a 22-year career. Now I volunteer with the American Red Cross in several roles. I am also part of the Red Cross Disaster Relief Response Team both world-wide and locally. It is my way of continuing to give back to a nation and community that has given so much to me.
I grew up in a family of musicians with music playing day and night. So, of course, I am also a musician. Primary instrument of choice is guitar; but I also play the bass, keyboards, drums, fiddle, mandolin & the accordion. This is a great stress relief for me.
I have been very active in several church Praise and Worship teams. Currently, I am the only electric guitar player (rhythm and lead). Some days they need me to play bass or keyboards, but most Sundays I am playing some combination of guitar and keyboards.
I am also a song writer and I have a home studio that allows me to record my music.
Another very important part of my life was growing up around guns. I currently have several of my own. It relaxes me when I am shooting and this is something I really enjoy doing every chance I get. I dream of my perfect partner also enjoying this hobby with me.
I recently got a really nice camera and have been getting into photography. Mostly wildlife and nature and just whatever trips my trigger. Every contest I have entered my photos into I have won awards. I have been asked to do family, maternity, graduation and wedding pictures. I am no expert, but people seem to really enjoy the product I give them.
